I have been using design essentials products for a little over a year and my hair has been really healthy since, growing at a steady rate and finding a good balance of needed moisture. I have really coily hair, likely 4C. I've only used the almond & avocado line since that was what my stylist first used when I cut and colored my hair blonde. I primarily wear my hair in twist outs - after washing my hair with the shampoo either once weekly or biweekly, I use water, mouse, and leave-in conditioner (all almond & avocado products) to do either two or three string twists. I leave the twists in for a few days up to a week and then untwist and style my hair to my liking using more of the leave-in conditioner. I then continue to use the leave-in daily while my twists are out and until my next wash. Love the definition of my curls and how moisturized my hair remains. Also, love that I get to support a Black-owned business! I would recommend giving these products a try!

Very Moisturizing!

This product is great for using when hair is needing a slight cleansing and some moisture, especially in between wash days. It has a not too thick yet not too thin consistency so it spreads onto hair very well. It smells clean and fresh, not too strong. I applied from roots to end and massaged the co-wash into my scalp then distributed product completely through hair with a wide-tooth comb. I then let sit on my hair for about 5 minutes. After rinsing, my hair felt clean and refreshed and very soft to the touch. The quality of this co-wash I would say is awesome. I highly recommend this product, especially for those looking for a cleansing as well as moisturizing result.

I took a chance on purchasing this product due to it being moisturizing and detangling shampoo. It delivers exactly that. The slip is perfect. I usually finger detangle during my shampoo process because it makes my hair so soft and manageable. The conditioner just adds the cherry on the top. I ran out of shampoo, ended up purchasing another brand that claimed it was moisturizing and detangling. My hair was stiff after the 2nd was. Thankfully, I had the Design Essential conditioner left. It instantly softened my hair. I went the next day and purchased the 32oz shampoo. Im sold for life!!

The Almond and Avocado is perfect for curly hair. I love it to my core. It keeps the hair silky soft. My hair immediately responded to the the moisturizing shampoo. I was impressed with the product because I learned of its existence from my sister. Once I used it from her I definitely looked it out and bought all the products in this line especially more than enough of the shampoo. This product is Aaaaaaamazing! You won’t regret it. This shampoo is like none of the moisturizing shampoos I’ve seen! Great consistency, great moisturizing agents and smells so good.

sometimes you just have to go back to basics. i have been trying for years to find *the* perfect product/line for my natural hair..one that provides moisture, strength & shine..and i haven't found it yet. then i remembered back when my hair was at its best, my then stylist was using design essentials. i'm happy i bought the products i did. not just saying this for the sake of review but i could tell a difference after one use of this deep conditioner, i didn't feel as if i needed my hair to be "done" and i wore it out for an entire week without worrying about dryness!

The first time I used this mask I saw a huge difference in my hair. Previously, I had patches that would frizz at the roots like a 1970's afro and the curls were hit and miss. After about 20 mins with the mask on my hair my curls had a definition I had never seen before. I didn't want to rinse it out! I did though. I used my styling products and sat under a hooded dryer. My curls were ultra defined (NO FRIZZ), shiny, soft, and bouncy. I have found my holy grail! I will definitely be trying the rest of the line.

This masque is my FAVORITE product from Design Essentials. I always stock up on it when it's on sale. It's true to its name. It gives thirsty strands much-needed moisture. I have low porosity hair from my hairline to my crown. This masque is perfect for adding softness and reducing frizz. I use the greenhouse method with this product by applying it on dry hair at night, then washing it out in the morning. My curls stay hydrated and manageable until the next wash day. I hope they never stop making this masque.

Me and my hair loves this co-wash...it smells so good! I love that it does NOT have coconut oil in it. Coconut oil makes my scalp itchy and tender - highly allergic. This co-wash cleans and moisturizes my hair/scalp very well. My hair turns out so soft and it helps make de-tangling easier. For reference, I am an african american female. I'm natural with fine - 3 B/C shoulder length hair. If you are sensitive to coconut oil, you might want to give it try. This is a very good quality product worth purchasing.

There is a reason why this set is always sold out. I literally felt like my hair felt like silk when I rinsed this out of my hair. Also, I was use to pumping a lot of product into my hand to wash/condition my hair...not with this. This product literally only needs 1 no more than 2 pumps and you will get a great lather. I'm relaxed and my sister is natural and we both are hooked! It is ahhhmazing!!

The best shanpoo and conditioner I have used in a really long time! The shampoo had such a good lather even on the first wash. Ive never used a shampoo that lathered that well before and that didnt leave my hair in a big tangled mess. You could detangle with this shampoo its amazing. Hair didnt feel stripped but felt very clean. The conditioner has really good slip as well. Highly recommend.

Works wonders on my 3B/3C low porosity hair. The best moisture mask I've ever used. Recommend using it with the Design Essentials Avocado & Almond Shampoo. I tried it before with a shampoo that wasn't moisturizing enough. The mask wasn't effective until I paired it with a shampoo in the same line. It has a thick consistency. Works great for hair that doesn't react well to coconut.

This hair masque is one of my go to products for wash day. I put it on and sit with my steam cap for about 15 to 20 minutes and my hair always feel so soft and moisturized after I wash it out. My curls definitely benefit from this masque and the moisture I get from this product is unmatched. Design Essentials is always going to be 1 of my favorite brands for me and my daughter.

I love this shampoo!!! It leaves my hair soft and clean. A small amount is all that is needed to create a great lather. When in a hurry, it's great for a wash and go because no conditioner is needed to make my hair manageable. I just wash, rinse, and apply the Almond and Avocado mousse and go. And the smell isn't over powering with a strong perfume smell.

My hair is 4b/c and very dry. Using this co-wash gave my hair a lot of moisture. On a scale of 1-10, the slip is about 8. But the moisture makes up for this. It also makes my hair very soft and manageable enough to detangle. It leaves my hair squeaky clean without feeling dry. Only thing is, I wish it came in a bigger size. I will definitely buy again.

I love this product! I was apprehensive as I wasn't sure about how the moisture level would really be. But I love it! It is very thick, yes has a good slip simultaneously. I have used it in my daughters hair, she has more of a 4A texture and I have a 4C texture. I believe it would work for all curly and coily hair types. Matter fact I need to get more!

My stylist gave me a free sample to try and I was addicted. While sitting under the dryer I ordered the products. Shipping took all of 2 days. Thick, rick, creamy product that not only leaves my hair smelling amazing but hydrated as well. Another magnificent part is significantly less time combing out my hair. This product is such a time saver.

I have not been able to use any other shampoo since switching to this. Nothing else cleanses well enough without drying out my hair. This keeps my hair moisturized, cleanses great, and helps with tangles to make the process easier. I even got my husband to switch to this shampoo. Also, smells great!

My hair has been dry and dull due to the triple color treated process pre quarantine. I purchased this mask to put the moisture back in and it did the job plus more. After following the directions my hair looks like I came out the salon . My silk presses at home became a lot more easier.

I love this mask. Myself and my 12 year old daughter has the same hair texture and scalp conditions and this mask really does make wash day a breeze. We use it in conjunction with the moisturizing scalp oil under a dryer and our scalp and hair is well moisturized and soft.

This collection is great for low porosity hair. It cleanses the hair and allows the hair to absorb the moisture that is needed. I also use the line of Almond Avocado moisturizer with heat for my low porosity clients. It doesn't leave build up and is able.to absorb

This moisture masque is exceptional! My hair texture is medium, type 4 hair that is low porosity. This product has great slip, glides on well, and penetrates very well. Your hair will be left soft to the touch and full of moisture. I highly recommend this product!

I've tried so many shampoos and after trying this one, I think the search is over. It smells delightful, moisturizes my hair, and makes detangling easier. I don't like the pump they use. It gets clogged all the time. I hope they return the the previous bottle.

We bought the shampoo and conditioner. They smell amazing. They are both are great quality. Now it’s easier to brush my daughter’s super curly hair in the shower while washing her hair. Even we can brush through her hair already when we put the shampoo on.
